You are of one the greatest & wisest people I've ever known. If anyone would understand that we are infinite beings having a human experience, it would be you. No need for good- byes as you have simply transitioned. I will miss your guidance, your incredible wit, humour, & grace and even your lesser qualities of brutal coarseness & direct speech. You are a true diamond in the rough. You could change the trajectory of a strangers life in an instant with the mastery and finesse of your words just as easily as you did with those of whom you were well acquainted. This was because you held an inner knowing of almost everyone you encountered while understanding the greatest contradiction, that it is impossible to really know anyone as we are all universes within ourselves. Today I will remember what you said so long ago about when your time comes: "when I die, I don't need a funeral. I don't want people crying over me. If anything I just want them to celebrate." So cheers to the greatest alchemist I have ever known to date! Today, I celebrate you! May the next chapters of your existence lead you to yet other even more fulfilling experiences as I know they most certainly shall. Thanks for everything Steven Chambers

Dear Selbourn, I know you are up there philosophizing and reading your poetry---and maybe even being inspired to write a line or two. I can recall when we first met at the Atlanta Writing Resource Center years ago. Reading and writing and just chatting about everything under the sun was a passion of yours--actually of all of ours there at the Center. Those were fun days. Fast forward to you becoming great friends with my husband, a fellow Jamaican--Fancy that!!!. Wish we could have done more together; shared more poetry and meals; solved more problems of the world; published more of our poems, and just enjoyed a bit more life and laughter. You are there among the ancestors now and can regale them all with your fancy pinned words. I'm so sorry you didn't get that book of poetry finished that you always dreamed about. But maybe it will still be done. Take care and rest, my friend, until we meet again.
